WINDOW TO WINDOW: SOLID WALLS WHEN THEY MISALIGN

In their newest body of work, Window to Window: Solid Walls When They Misalign, Kam and Power explore how personal identities and fantasy impact intimate relationships. Drawing from aesthetics and imageries from each of their own cultural backgrounds, interests, and queer identity, Kam and Power collaborate by looking outside of their own experiences to reinterpret each of their own origins through the lens of the other. Kam and Power create metaphors and analogies for intimate relationships by using surrealist imageries and references to mythology, this body of work is a call to attention to humans’ deep desire to feel connected with each other and be understood despite differences.

Window to Window: Solid Walls When They Misalaign was part of Boss Babe ATX’s 2019 Meet Her Hands summer exhibition series featuring women and nonbinary artists in Texas. The exhibition was done in collaboration with the Elisabet Ney Museum in Austin.
